Frequently asked questions

What does the P&C do?

The P&C is a team of passionate volunteers, who give their time and are dedicated to enriching the school experience for all in our community. The P&C promotes the interests of the school by bringing parents and carers, citizens, students, and teaching staff into close cooperation.

The P&C also assists in providing facilities and equipment for the school and in promoting the recreation and welfare of the students at the school.

The P&C has several Subcommittees, including:

The TWPS P&C also supports the School Banking Program and Book Club.

The P&C does a lot of fundraising. Where does that money go?

Money raised by the P&C is used to provide facilities and equipment for the school and to promote the recreation and welfare of the students at the school.  See our Current Projects page for active fundraising projects.

When does the P&C meet?

The P&C meets on Tuesday in Week 3 and Week 8 of each school term at 7:30pm in the school library or virtually via Zoom.

In 2022, our meetings dates and video conferencing links will be provided on the events page.

The dates of our meetings are also listed in the school newsletter and reminders are posted to Facebook.

What happens at a P&C meeting?

The agenda for each P&C meeting includes:

A detailed agenda for each P&C meeting, together with a copy of the previous meeting's minutes, is sent to all financial members one week prior to the upcoming meeting. If you have an item of business that you would like to place on the agenda for a future meeting, please contact us via email at officebearers@twpspandc.org.

P&C meetings are not the appropriate forum for issues relating to an individual person, whether that be a child, parent or school staff member. Such matters should be addressed to the class teacher, Principal or person concerned. Issues relating too P&C Members or services should be raised in accordance with the TWPS P&C Grievances, Complaints & Disputes Procedures.

Who can attend a P&C meeting?

All in our community are welcome at any meeting of the association. You do not need to have a child enrolled at the school to attend a meeting.  Only current financial members are eligible to vote at meetings.

How do I become a financial member?

Our membership fee is $1 and can be paid via Flexischools at any time.

You must be a financial member to vote at our meetings. Membership does not become effective until the close of the first General Meeting following payment of your membership fee. We are a diverse and inclusive association and membership is open to everyone, and all parents and citizens in the local area are encouraged to become members.

The membership register is maintained by the P&C Secretary and updated at the close of each meeting.

What is the P&C Voluntary Contribution on my TWPS Statement of Account?

The P&C asks families to pay a voluntary contribution each year.  The voluntary contribution together with other fundraising income are the P&C’s major sources of income. Without this income, our ability to support the school financially and provide services (canteen, uniform shop, and band program) would be significantly reduced.

The voluntary contribution is fundraising income, not a fee for membership of the P&C.
